Founded in July 2022, Hefei Unitary Quantum Technology Co., Ltd. was incubated by the research team led by Academician Guo Guangcan from the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) and the Key Laboratory of Quantum Information, Chinese Academy of Sciences.
As one of the first enterprises authorized with intellectual property rights by USTC, it is also a domestic leader in ion-trap quantum computing adopting the QCCD technical route.
The company devotes itself to the scientific research and industrialization of ion-trap quantum computing, and contributes to achieving high-level self-reliance and strength in China’s quantum computing sector.
Core Team
Prof. Yong-jian Han
Chief Scientific Advisor Researcher and Doctoral Supervisor at USTC, Tenured Researcher at Hefei National Laboratory. He has long been engaged in research on quantum computing, quantum simulation, quantum information and many-body strongly correlated physics. He was awarded the First Prize of National Teaching Achievement and the Special Prize of Anhui Provincial Teaching Achievement. He has published more than 70 papers in top international journals including Nature journals, Science journals and PRL. He serves as the Leader of the Technical Subgroup under the Quantum Information Standards Working Group of the National Information Technology Standardization Technical Committee. He is also the principal investigator of projects under the National Science and Technology Innovation 2030 Major Project, key special programs of the Ministry of Science and Technology, and major projects of the Anhui Science and Technology Research Program.
Prof. Yun-feng Huang
Co-founder Researcher, National Distinguished Young Scholar and PhD Supervisor at USTC. His research focuses on experimental studies of photonic quantum computing, trapped-ion quantum computing and quantum simulation. He was awarded the First Prize of the Ministry of Education Natural Science Award (2014) and the Second Prize of the National Natural Science Award (2021). He is the principal investigator for a sub-project under the National Science and Technology Innovation 2030 Major Project "Quantum Communication and Quantum Computers".
Prof. Xiao-ye Xu
Co-founder Distinguished Professor, National Excellent Young Scholar and PhD Supervisor at USTC. He specializes in the design and construction of large-scale complex optical interferometric setups, and has delivered a series of innovative achievements in photonic quantum walks and photonic quantum simulation. His team realized the first direct measurement of topological invariants in chiral-symmetric quantum walks.
Prof. Chuan-feng Li
Chief Scientific Advisor Researcher, National Distinguished Young Scholar, Yangtze River Scholar and Leading Talent of the National Ten-Thousand Talents Program at USTC. Recipient of the 2021 Second Prize of the National Natural Science Award. His research centers on quantum networks based on photonic quantum systems, ion traps and solid-state quantum memories. As first or corresponding author, he has published 1 Nature paper, 19 papers in Nature sub-journals and 45 PRL papers.
Prof. Jin-ming Cui
Chief Technical Advisor Associate Researcher and PhD Supervisor at USTC. He devotes himself to experimental research on quantum simulation and quantum computation based on ion trap physical systems. He has developed multiple ion trap devices for quantum information research and achieved numerous breakthroughs in quantum imaging and quantum simulation.
Dr. Ran He
General Manager, Director PhD and Postdoctoral Fellow of USTC. He has long conducted experimental research on ion trap quantum computing. He designed, developed and assembled multiple generations of ion trap quantum computing systems, with extensive experience in both R&D and industrialization of ion trap quantum computing technologies. He was named to the U30 Young Entrepreneur List of the Yangtze River Delta G60 Science and Innovation Corridor in 2023.
Dr. Yang Zhang
Deputy General Manager, Director Ph.D. from USTC, with joint postdoctoral training at USTC and Unitary Quantum. Executive Member of the CCF Quantum Computing Professional Group. Brings rich experience in quantum computing industrialization, industry-academia-research partnerships, and capital management.Awards & Certifications
